Millard Fillmore Military Appointment Signed "Millard Fillmore". One vellum page, partially printed, 13.25" x 17.75", Washington D. C., July 3, 1852, with handsome engraved military and patriotic vignettes and countersigned by Charles M. Conrad as Secretary of War, appointing "Henry C. Bankhead . . . Second Lieutenant in the Fifth Regiment of Infantry in the service of the United States." Remnant of paper seal of the War Office at top left. Folds; light toning along the left edge; small chips at bottom edge. Fine.
