Description
Millard Fillmore Free Franked Cover as Vice President. 5.5" x 3.25", Washington, D.C.; December 29, 1849. A transmittal cover signed in Fillmore's hand as Vice President, "Free / M. Fillmore / V.P." It is addressed to an S. Claxton of New York. Fillmore was Vice President for only a year before succeeding to the office after the death of President Taylor in 1850. It is attached to a mounting board with an engraving of Fillmore measuring 7.5" x 16.5".Condition: Cover is lightly rubbed.
