One partially-printed page with integral blank, 7.75" x 9.75", on Executive Mansion letterhead, January 31, 1853, to the state of Maryland informing them that a "Jury of the Royal Commissioners connected with the Exhibition of the Works of all Nations at London, in the year 1851, in consideration of the Collection of Produce exhibited by you, has awarded you a Prize Medal, Certificate and a copy of the Reports of the Juries." Countersigned by Peter Force as chairman of the executive committee. Folds; detached along the main horizontal fold. Scattered spots of foxing. Several small binding holes along the left margin.

    The Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of all Nations was held in London May 1 through October 11, 1851, as a celebration of modern technology and is regarded today as the first World's Fair.
