Description

Millard Fillmore Autograph Letter Signed as Member of the House of Representatives. One page, 8" x 10", on lined paper, Washington, April 6, 1840, to R. H. Allen regarding proposed "appropriations" that has been "voted down by decided majorities in both Houses." The future president was at the time serving his second term as a Congressman from New York's thirty-second district. Also included is the transmittal envelope with Fillmore's free frank signature. There is some deterioration of the horizontal fold near the top with it being separated in places. Else fine.
