Description
Mary Todd Lincoln Free Frank Signed "Mary Lincoln." 5" x 2.75". A black bordered mourning cover addressed in her hand to Supreme Court Associate Justice David Davis. Davis had previously served as a United States Senator from Illinois and was Abraham Lincoln's campaign manager at the 1860 Republican National Convention.Condition: The envelope has been neatly sliced open at the top, with a few tiny tears thereat. An additional tear at bottom center affects the "s" in Washington. Two mounting tabs at top on verso, with moderate soiling throughout.
