Martin Van Buren Affix the Seal Signed "M Van Buren." One partially-printed page, 7" x 8.75" (sight), Washington, July 7, 1840, authorizing the secretary of state to "affix the Seal of the United States to an Exequatur for C. Cazenove Gardner as Vice Consul of Russia for the port of Savannah." Unevenly toned with spots of scattered foxing. Matted to an overall size of 10.25" x 12".
