Description

John Tyler Appointment Signed as Governor of Virginia. One partially printed page, 8" x 7.75"; Richmond; December 17, 1826. Document appoints Philemon Woodward to be sheriff of Middlesex County. Signed, "John Tyler." With blind embossed paper seal of the state of Virginia affixed at lower left.

Condition: Flattened folds with creasing throughout. Small round stain at the bottom from the wax seal occurring when document was stored folded. Half inch separation at vertical fold at top. Top right corner is creased. Bottom edge is uneven.
