John F. Kennedy Photograph Signed as presidential candidate. B/W, 10" x 8", ca. 1960. "To Sue Seay - with the warmest personal regards - [signed] John F. Kennedy." The photo shows the senator and presidential candidate in a tuxedo speaking to a laughing Ms. Seay. That photo is accompanied by a B/W 8" x 10" photograph of Richard Nixon (unsigned) as a presidential candidate speaking to Ms. Seay.

Included is the April 26, 1960, issue of Look magazine, in which Sue Seay authors a seven-page story entitled "Washington Party Crasher: To meet the elite . . . all you need is gall." The article contains her experiences as a party crasher - assigned by Look - to attend "15 parties . . . in Washington in 12 days" uninvited. At one party she met the Democratic nominees, which included Kennedy and was captured in this photograph published in the Look article. In the caption, Ms. Seay writes that when she was introduced to Kennedy, he acted as though he knew her, stating, "Sue, why yes, of course." The Nixon photo was also published in the article. Ms. Seay met him at another party and, according to the photo's caption, asked the Republican nominee who he would like to be his vice president. He replied, "That's a big question for such a little girl."

Also included is a journalist Richard Buckley Typed Letter Signed and dated March 25, 2011, recalling his attendance as an eleven-year-old boy at the inaugural ball for President Kennedy on January 20, 1961. All items have been well preserved. The magazine exhibits expected minor wear.
