    John F. Kennedy Letter Signed "John" as U.S. Senator. One page, 7.5" x 9" (sight), no place; May 15, 1953. A letter addressed to Representative John E. Fogarty, in which Kennedy details his plans to make a number of speeches in the Senate about the economic issues in New England and other parts of the country. He adds, in part: "Because I know that you have been long concerned with such problems and have given serious study to such steps as may be taken by the Federal Government for their alleviation, I would appreciate very much any comments you may have pertaining to these proposals." Kennedy has also crossed out "Congressman" in the salutation and penned in "John". Matted and framed with a lithograph portrait of Kennedy to the overall size of 21.75" x 14.5".

    Kennedy ended up giving three speeches to Senate in which he outlined his plans to diversify the New England economy, a move that he believed would help both New England the rest of the country. Kennedy also believed that his plans would aid in the fight against communism.

    Condition: Usual mail folds, with light bleed-through from writing on verso at top corner.
