John Adams Franking Signature on a Cover Addressed in his Hand to "Mrs. Adams". 5" x 3.25" (sight). Adams signs "Free / John Adams" on a cover addressed to "Mrs. Adams / Quincy / near Boston." Well struck "11/FE" Franklin mark with matching "Free" handstamp. An exceptional example with large, bold script. Matted and framed with an engraving of Adams to an overall size of 11" x 16.5".Condition: Age toning, with stray foxing. Flattened folds, with a bit of paper loss occurring along vertical fold at bottom. Tiny chip along bottom margin.
