James Polk Naval Military Appointment Signed "James K. Polk". One partially printed page of vellum, 14.5" x 17" (sight), Washington, D.C.; April 7, 1846. An appointment of Albert G. Clary as Lieutenant in the Navy. With patriotic and military vignettes at the top and bottom margins. Paper seal is present. Countersigned by Secretary of the Navy George Bancroft. Matted and framed to an overall size of 22" x 25".Condition: Flattened folds. Light foxing throughout.
