James Monroe Land Grant Signed. One partially printed page of vellum, 13" x 9", City of Washington; January 3, 1818. Document granting "William Daniels...One hundred and sixty acres...the southwest quarter of Section Twenty three...in the Territory of Illinois..." Signed, "James Monroe." Countersigned by Josiah Meigs as Commissioner of the General Land-Office. With blind embossed paper seal. Docketed on verso with signature from William Daniels.Condition: Light soiling and foxing with minute area of worming to crease. Left corner creased with some wrinkling along bottom margin. Edgewear with fold lines.
