While representing Ohio in the U.S. House of Representatives, the future president inscribes on a front free endpaper to Representative John Randolph Tucker, "To Hon. J. R. Tucker, Hoping that he may have this little prophetic book read to him during his absence from the House - and hoping he may return to us cum oculis sanis. I am Very Truly Yours, [signed] JA Garfield. Com[mittee] of Ways & Means, April 24, 1879." With publishers original green binding. Gilt lettering on front and spine. The book is authored by Goldwin Smith. Toronto: Willing & Williamson, 1878. Some wear and stains to covers. Foxing and age-toning to leaves. Half title page is separating at the lower edge.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
