James Buchanan Carte de Visite Signed "James Buchanan/ 21 September 1866" in the lower border, 2.75" x 4". Backstamped, "Published by E. & H. T. Anthony/ 501 Broadway New York/ Manufacturers of the best Photographic Albums"; later notations have been handwritten on the verso. Buchanan, one of the earliest presidents to be photographed, sits in a distinguished pose for this half-bust photograph. This rare photograph of the fifteenth president is in fine condition.Auction Info
