Description

James Buchanan Autograph Document Signed, "James Buchanan." One page, 7.75" x 5.5", Lancaster, Pennsylvania; January 1, 1863. Document written by Buchanan (1791-1868), former president of the U.S., in which he writes, "Agent of the State of Ohio, New York. Pay to the order of C. Hager Esquire, President of the Farmers Bank of Lancaster, One hundred & Fifty dollars, the interest due me this day on a certificate of Loan from said State for Five Thousand dollars. $150.00 James Buchanan."

The document bears a 2-cent stamp on the upper left corner, on which Buchanan put his initials and the date.

Condition: Document has the usual folds, with a pin hole near the middle of the document; otherwise good.
