Herbert Hoover Typed Letter Signed. One page on Department of Commerce letterhead, 8" x 10.5", Washington, D.C.; October 18, 1921. A letter marked "Confidential" to James M. Beck, Solicitor General of the Department of Justice: "Please find enclosed a circular gotten out by the American Allied Fund of New York. I see your name on the Advisory Committee. The statement is untrue, for all of the children's necessities in Poland are being taken care of by the American Relief Administration at the present time. I would like to suggest to you that you make some demand of this Fund to know what its expenditures are, what its receipts are, how much money it expends on propaganda, and who undertakes the distribution of its funds. It does seem to me the time has arrived when a lot of these miscellaneous appeals should be closed out." Boldly signed by Hoover in black ink.

Condition: Flattened mail folds, lightly toned particularly at edges. Notation in pencil at top, with a paperclip mark.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
