Description

Harry S. Truman Typed Letter Signed as Vice President "Harry". One page, on his Office of the Vice President letterhead, 8" x 10.5", Washington, March 7, 1945, to Dr. F. H. Griffith, Ramrod Key, Florida. Truman writes a brief informal letter to his old army buddy Dr. Floyd Griffith. He writes, in part: "Dear Doc: Appreciated your letter of the Eighth of February which just now came to the top of the pile, and it looks now as if I won't be able to get away from here for some time to come. Business is piling up as high as it can be." Written scant weeks before President Roosevelt's death and Truman's assumption of the Presidency. The paper has toned slightly and the letter has the usual fold creases, otherwise it is in very good condition.
