Description

Harry S. Truman: Early Signed Masonic Document. Truman was an active Mason for over 60 years, and this was an important influence in his life. He petitioned for membership in December of 1908, and by 1910, at age 26, was sufficiently involved to roundup the required twenty petitioners to set up his own Lodge, in Grandview, Missouri. Offered here is a 1914 receipt, signed by Truman, for the dues of a Grandview Lodge member, beautifully custom-framed with a facsimile copy of Truman's own signed application to join the Masons. Such early examples of Truman's signature are rarely offered. 12 x 18.75".
