    Description

    H. H. Bryant Inscribed Copy of Ulysses, A Tragedy to President Ulysses S. Grant. Written by playwright Nicolas Rowe in the early eighteenth century and quite popular in its day, this copy is inscribed on the front endpaper by H. H. Bryant to then-President Grant. It reads: "To President Ulysses S. Grant/With the Respectful Compliments/of H. H. Bryant" and is dated May 1869. Bound with marbled cloth boards and leather spine and corners. Title in gilt on spine. Moderate staining and wear. A good copy.
