DescriptionGrover Cleveland Signed Naval Appointment. One partially printed sheet of vellum, 15.75" x 19"; Washington, D.C.; July 1, 1893. Countersigned by Secretary of the Navy Hilary A. Herbert, the document appoints Charles R. Emrich to the rank of Assistant Engineer. With dark blue embossed U.S. Navy seal, embellished with maritime engravings.
Condition: Folds as expected, small area of soiling at lower left corner. Small amount of paper loss at lower right margin, and some material from the paper seal has been lost. Overall fine condition.
