    Description

    George Washington Signed Patent. Two pages of vellum, 11.5" x 15", City of Philadelphia; January 31, 1795. Patent 93X for Samuel Kellogg who "hath alleged that he has invented a new and useful improvement in the mode of Shearing Woolen or other Cloths." Signed, "Go: Washington." Countersigned by Edmund Randolph as Secretary of State and William Bradford as Attorney General. With presidential paper seal and blue binding ribbon. The second page contains a description of the invention and is signed by Samuel Kellogg.

    Condition: Two small areas of loss to the second page have been professional repaired. Lightly rubbed and toned. Toning a bit heavier along edges.
