    Description

George Washington: A Fine 1799 Letter Entirely in His Hand. Written from Mount Vernon on September 31, less than three months before his passing, it incorporates his signature "Genl. Washington" in the first line. He writes in third person to "Mr. Digger" to discuss the exchange of 20 bushels of early white wheat. He opines on the best time for harvesting, observing that "...any time in September is in good season-the middle better than sooner in that month." Docketed on verso in another hand "Genl. Washington," the ink from which has lightly bled through to the front to the right of "1799" as shown. Minor roughness along left edge, otherwise excellent condition. 7.25" x 9".

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
