George H.W. Bush Autograph Letters (4) Signed Typed Letters (7) Signed. A group of letters addressed to political journalist, Norman Cousins, and dated from March 27, 1973 to June 25, 1990. The majority were written while Bush served as Vice President under President Ronald Reagan. Four handwritten letters are on note cards measuring 6.25" x 4.25", with routine content and boldly signed "George".

The typed letters include five letters written as Vice President and one as President on White House letterhead. The last typed letter (7.25" x 10.5") is dated August 14, 1974, and has a handwritten postscript: "Very many thanks for your call. Tom enjoyed talking to you - sorry we [illegible]. Things are nervous here but whatever way it goes, it's been great hearing from friends." Bush was serving as chairman of the Republican Party in 1974, and on August 7, a week before writing this letter, he had formally requested that Richard Nixon resign from the presidency. Ex. Norman Cousins Estate.

Condition: Letters are all in good condition, with some very light toning and usual mail folds.
