Franklin D. Roosevelt Typed Letter Signed "Franklin D Roosevelt." One page, 6.5" x 9.75", New York; December 17, 1928. The letter is addressed to Robert M. Barker, responding to a letter about the fate of the Democratic Party. Roosevelt writes: "I am delighted to have your letter. It is always pleasant to hear from Harvard men at any time. I am of course pleased with the result in New York State where we have saved most of the State ticket, but the victory has been clouded by the loss of the National election. I am, however, confident of the future of the party, for the polling of fifteen million votes by the Governor indicates to me that the party is not out of the running. Do you think it would be possible to come to the Inauguration on January first? I should be delighted to have you." Letter is matted and framed along with a plaque, a portrait of FDR, and an engraving of an article entitled "Franklin D. Roosevelt Builds Base for Democrats as Governor" to an overall size of 28.5" x 20.25". Double-sided framed with original transmittal envelope on verso.

Condition: Usual mail folds, else very fine.
