A one page letter from FDR on The White House Washington letterhead dated November 6, 1943, containing very personal content. The letter is addressed to J. Levi, Esq. FDR writes: "Dear Mr. Levi:/ Please forgive me for not having written to you sooner to thank you very much for your wonderful gifts of the boys' pictures in those most attractive leather folders. As you know, I liked mine so much that I knew Mrs. Roosevelt would like to have one for her desk as well. And, of course, I was delighted to have the smaller one because I now have one on my desk in the office and one on my desk in the study at the house. You were more than kind to take all this trouble and to send them to me so promptly./ With every good wish to you, and my grateful thanks,/ Very sincerely yours,/ Franklin D. Roosevelt." A wonderful letter of thanks from War President FDR for the reception by he and ER of pictures which both placed upon their desks, could they be of the Roosevelt children?
