Franklin D. Roosevelt Typed Letter Signed as president. One page, 7" x 8.75", February 8, 1944, Washington, D.C., on light green White House stationary. Included is a letter of transmittal by William V. O'Connor gifting the the FDR letter to the recipient. The FDR letter has a central fold and light toning around the edges, else very fine.

In the letter Roosevelt writes to J. F. T. O'Connor, who served as FDR's Comptroller of the Currency, regarding a Hearst newspaper editorial and the success of the March of Dimes campaign. O'Connor was a close personal friend of Roosevelt who referred to the recipient as "Jefty". Included is a typed letter signed by William V. O'Connor, nephew of J. F. T., where he sends the previous letter to Mr. Martin Padway of Beverly Hills. The younger O'Connor says, "I think the signature of such a great president will be very valuable as a memento".
