Full FDR signature on a very rare business sized 4 x 9 ½" 1932 Air Mail Special Delivery letter commemorating the bicentennial of the birth of George Washington. FDR boldly signs his name in the bottom left hand corner of the envelope, and his Vice President from 1933 to 1941 John Nance Garner boldly signs his name at the top left of the envelope, a very rare combination of signatures on a special commemorative George Washington envelope. Containing two postmarks dated February 22, 1932 from Mount Vernon, Virginia, this special envelope contains a 5-cent blue George Washington bicentennial stamp that was pre-printed with the envelope itself, plus twelve other George Washington stamps affixed to the envelope of different denominations: ½-cent, 1-cent, 1 ½-cent, 2-cent, 3-cent, 4-cent, 5-cent, 6-cent, 7-cent, 8-cent, 9-cent, and 10-cent stamps arranged in order of the value of each George Washington stamp. There is also a lithograph stamped on the left side of the envelope commemorating the birth of George Washington on February 22, 1732, the lithograph depicting the home in which George Washington was born in Wakefield, Virginia. The envelope is addressed to W. Kuhn of New York, New York. This special Air Mail letter commemorating the bicentennial of the birth of George Washington, signed by both FDR and John Nance Garner, is a rare and wonderful piece.
