FDR has inscribed this striking portrait to his former classmate and law partner: "For Harry Hooker with the affectionate/ regards of his old schoolmate and friend./ Franklin D. Roosevelt/ 1932". Henry Stewart Hooker (also known as Harry) was a member of Marvin, Hooker & Roosevelt from 1910-1918. A beautifully inscribed and intimate piece.

Photographic Portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt signed: "For Harry Hooker with the affectionate/ regards of his old schoolmate and friend./ Franklin D. Roosevelt/ 1932." The photograph of FDR was embossed by Morris & Ewing, Washington, D.C. The photographic portrait of FDR inscribed to Harry Hooker measures 10 x 14." Henry Stewart Hooker (also known as Harry) was born in San Francisco on September 21, 1879. He was a graduate of Yale University and New York Law School.  He was a member of Marvin, Hooker & Roosevelt from 1910-1918, and then Hooker, Goodale, Wehle & Hanson.  He served with distinction during World War I on the staff of General Leonard Wood in France.  He was cited for "exceptionally meritorious and conspicuous services" and also for "gallantry in action."  He was presented decorations by France and Belgium as well as awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star by the United States. A terrific inscribed photographic portrait of FDR from the year he was elected President of the United States, given to FDR's fellow classmate and law partner.
