Description
FOUR PRESIDENTIAL TLS'S.
A group of four Typed Letters Signed of Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt. All four letters have been laminated. The Theodore Roosevelt letter (signature a little faded) has two corrections, was written in 1900 while Governor of New York, and has top notch content! ("As regards my own ambitions, at present they are strictly limited to carrying out my term satisfactorily as Governor. Then if the people choose to re-elect me I shall try to carry on my second term precisely like my first. I am not getting much rest at Oyster Bay... although I shall not be able to go out on your yacht, still I would like to show you my trophies. Unfortunately I am not much of a yachtsman.") The Taft letter, written in 1914, acknowledges a gift of a "Daily Reminder." The Wilson letter is written as President-elect and acknowledges a message of congratulations (four spots of tape discoloration at the edges). The FDR letter, written as New York Governor in 1931, acknowledges a telegram of birthday congratulations. LOA from James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA.
