Ellen Arthur Endorsed Check Signed by Chester Arthur. 7" x 2.75", New York; July 10, 1874. A check issued by the Nassau Bank in the amount of $100 made payable to his wife, Ellen Arthur. It is signed, "C A Arthur." The verso has been endorsed by Ellen and reads, "E. L. H. Arthur."Condition: 1" closed tear at center of check. Endorsement signature is light. Partially erased pencil notation on verso. Two areas of dried adhesive residue on verso indicating previous mounting.
