Dwight Eisenhower Card Signed "Dwight Eisenhower". 4" x 2.5", Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. A typed letter accompanies the card, 7.25" x 10.5", March 21, 1966, from Executive Assistant Robert L. Schulz. The signed card and letter were sent to Robert S. Grant, whose 9-year-old son had requested a signed document from Eisenhower. Schulz responded that it was not possible to fulfil this request, but wrote "...I am enclosing a card personally signed by the General that he may put with his collection. This exception could only be made because we had this u one /u card in the office that we had been holding for quite some time and feel that your request is worthy of the exception." The letter is accompanied by its original transmittal cover.

Dwight Eisenhower (1890-1969) served as a five-star general in the Second World War before becoming president in 1953. His presidency was somewhat plagued by health complications, and in 1965 he suffered a major heart attack which kept him from further public affairs. In total, he suffered seven heart attacks between 1955 and 1969.

Condition: The signed card is in excellent condition. The letter has usual mail folds.
