Andrew Jackson Signed Scallop Top Ship's Passport. One partially printed page, 11.25" x 14.75", New York; December 12, 1832. The passport, No. 126, is signed "Andrew Jackson" and countersigned by Secretary of State Edward Livingston. Papers for the ship Silvanus Jenkins of New York, attesting to her legitimacy as a merchant ship of the United States. "H. Allen" is named the ship's master and the vessel is described as having " guns navigated with Twenty two men..." Two maritime vignettes, one a harbor scene and the other a frigate under sail, decorate the top margin of the document. The upper engraving is somewhat cut off due to the document's scalloped top edge. An embossed presidential seal is affixed on the lower left corner. Docketing on verso.

Condition: Flattened folds, with light creasing at lower edge. Light toning to the paper seal, and there are some small blue spots of soiling throughout document. Signatures are very bold. Overall very good.
