Description

Andrew Jackson Signed Naval Appointment. Single vellum sheet, 10.25" x 8"; City of Washington; August 28, 1835. Jackson appoints Mayo Carrington Watkins to the rank of midshipman. Countersigned by Mahlon Dickerson as Secretary of the Navy.

Condition:
Lacking blind embossed seal at lower left. Deep flattened folds, and light staining at top. Tiny chips along bottom edge.
