Andrew Jackson Power of Attorney Document Signed "Andrew Jackson". Two pages, front and back; April 6, 1801. A document signed by Jackson, giving his attorney, Charles McClung, the power to oversee the sale of property owned in North Carolina. The document reads, in part:

"Now know ye that I the said Andrew Jackson... have and by these presents do constitute and appoint Charles McClung of the County of Knox and State aforesaid my true and Lawful Attorney, with full power and authority to sell, and in my name convey to any person or persons, such part or parts of the said tract of land as he my said Attorney may think proper..." Boldly signed by Jackson at the bottom of the second page. Cosigned by Hugh Lawson White as witness. The document is comprised of one-half sheet of paper affixed on top of a second sheet of paper.

Condition: Flattened folds, with some separations along the weakened folds. Three small holes are present on the top half of the document near the center fold. There is minor soiling from adhesive where top half sheet is affixed to bottom sheet. Light toning and some spots of soiling throughout, mainly at the corners. Minor paper loss at the lower edge.
