Description

Abraham Lincoln Unsigned Autograph Document. No place (evidently Edgar Co., Ill.), no date, one page, folio. An order of the court in Andrew J. Beebe vs Moses Woodward, declaring that the plaintiff is entitled to "possession of the premises in question and...costs", but that he "shall not at any time proceed in any way against said defendant for mesne profits herein." The defendant is allowed possession for 12 months, and shall "within that period...remove any or all of the improvements...doing thereby, no unnecessary injury to the soil, timber or other natural property...and that during said period, execution herein be staid." A legal description of the land in question is given, showing that it was located in Edgar County. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.
