    Description

    Abraham Lincoln Signed Military Appointment. Oversized vellum sheet, 15.75" x 19.5". City of Washington, March 8, 1864. A document appointing Joseph H. Linsley "Assistant Adjutant General of Volunteers with the rank of Captain." Document is attached to a larger board.

    Condition: Appointment is affixed to a larger board with two small tabs at top of document (which can be easily removed). Lincoln's large and bold signature has a single fold through the top of the A and L, but remains largely unaffected. Flattened folds and slight buckling.
