    Abraham Lincoln Naval Appointment Signed "Abraham Lincoln". One partially-printed vellum page, 14.25" x 17.75" (sight), Washington, April 1, 1862. A document appointing "William B. Remey Jr... Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps." With embossed Naval seal, embellished with maritime engravings. Counter-signed by Secretary of the Navy Gideon Wells and by the Registrar William P. Moran. Matted and framed to the overall size of 24.75" x 27.75".

    Condition: Minimal toning at bottom edge, with light soiling on the embossed seal. Flattened folds, one small area of paper loss where document has weakened at a fold. Otherwise fine condition. Boldly signed by Lincoln.
