Abraham Lincoln Military Appointment Signed "Abraham Lincoln". One vellum page, partially printed, 13.75" x 17.75", Washington D. C., February 21, 1862, with handsome engraved military and patriotic vignettes and countersigned by Edwin Stanton as Secretary of War, appointing "William Bailhache . . . Assistant Quartermaster of Volunteers with the rank of Captain in the service of the United States." With the blue seal of the War Office in the upper left. Lincoln's distinctive signature is slightly faded, but still wholly legible. Folds with moderate toning along the edges. Fine.
