Description
Abraham Lincoln: Military Appointment Document Signed [DS].15.75" x 19.5" printed and manuscript document on parchment, appointing William Hays a "Major in the Fifth Regiment of Artillery" effective August 1, 1863. Signed by Abraham Lincoln as President and Edwin Stanton as Secretary of War. Folded in sixths. Some minor damage to affixed paper seal. The autographs are clean and bold. A very nice example, eminently displayable.
