Description

Abraham Lincoln Autograph Legal Document Signed "Lincoln." One page, 7.75" x 5.25", Langama County, Illinois; July 1839. All in Lincoln's hand, a record of a case between "Benjamin H. Lockwood vs. William H. Wemway" for the July 1839 term of circuit. It reads in part: "Attachment for $104.38 cents...The clerk will issue an attachment in this case, and also advertise according to Law. Stuart & Lincoln."

The thirty-year-old Abraham Lincoln was law partners with John T. Stuart from 1837 to 1841. In this case, both were acting for the plaintiff.

Condition: Light uneven toning at the bottom edge. Slight ink smudge below Lincoln's signature. Bumped corners. Flattened folds. Boldly signed.
