Description

Abraham Lincoln Autograph Endorsement Signed "A. Lincoln." Two pages, 7.25" x 9" (sight), Washington, December 21, 1861. Lincoln has written, "Respectfully submitted matter to the War Department," on the verso of a letter requesting a position as paymaster (which can be see through a window on the back of the frame). Folds are lightly toned. Lincoln's inscription and signature are bold and bright. Matted with a 5.5" x 7" (sight) engraved portrait of the president to an overall size of 15.25" x 27".
