    Description

Abraham Lincoln Autograph Endorsement Signed "A. Lincoln", two pages, 5" x 8", Washington D.C., November 5, 1861. Missing another page which requested the appointment of August R. Egbert, Burlington, New Jersey, as a paymaster. Egbert must have been exceptionally well connected: the list of endorsers ranges from Secretary of State William Seward to actor Edwin Booth, brother of Lincoln's assassin. Very fine condition.
