Abraham Lincoln. Autograph Document Signed twice "Lincoln p.d." No place or date (Vermilion Co., Ill.; docketed May 1859), one and one-half pages, folio. A complex plea and notice in James Dougherty vs "Matilda Rankin, impleaded with Francis M. Rankin" involving a life estate Mrs. Rankin had in some land that she had contracted to convey to the plaintiff. Since Dougherty settled with one Milton Davis, who held some interest in the property, and she herself subsequently gave Dougherty "by deed, her entire interest in said land" she "insists that the written contract…was and is entirely superceded, and is of no more effect." Lincoln's writing is unusually large and distinct. Bottom portion of second leaf trimmed away; broken folds reinforced on versos, which are blank except for dockets. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
