Abraham Lincoln. Autograph Document Signed "Logan & Lincoln p.d." Menard Co. (Ill.), no date [docketed October 1841], one page, oblong octavo. A request for issuance of subpoenas in the case of Edward Potter vs John Bell (see preceding item). Among the parties summoned are Francis Regnier and James Short, old friends and neighbors of Lincoln from his New Salem days. Regnier was one of the frontier village's physicians, while "Uncle Jimmy" Short is remembered for having bought the impoverished Lincoln's surveying instruments when they were sold on execution and returning them to him so that he could continue to earn a living. Short's kindness was not forgotten, and during his Presidency Lincoln made him an Indian agent in California. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
