Description

Abraham Lincoln Appointment Signed "Abraham Lincoln". On partially printed document, 13.75" x 17", Washington D. C.; February 21, 1862. A military appointment making "Benjamin C. Card...First Lieutenant in the Twelfth Regiment of Infantry in the service of the United States." With the blue seal of the War Office in the upper left and handsome engraved military and patriotic vignettes. The appointment is countersigned by Edwin Stanton as Secretary of War and Lorenzo Thomas as Adjutant General of the Army. The appointment has been matted and framed to the overall size of 20.5" x 24.25".

Condition: Light foxing and soiling throughout. Overall very good condition.
