    Description

Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson: Dual Autographs on an Album Page. 5" x 8 ½" album leaf, inscribed, from top to bottom: "A. Lincoln./ Andrew Johnson/ Jno. G. Nicolay/ Priv. Sec./ George Bancroft". What a great combination of signatures! Johnson was, of course, Lincoln's Vice President and successor-in-office, John Nicolay one of his private secretaries and biographers. George Bancroft delivered the Congressional Eulogy on Lincoln and got Lincoln to donate a manuscript copy of the Gettysburg Address to the Baltimore Sanitary Fair held in 1864. The signatures are crisp and bold, as nice as one could hope for!
