[Andrew Johnson]. Impeachment Committee Carte de Visite Signed and Impeachment Ticket. Measuring 4" x 2.5", the seven men of the committee, John A. Logan, Thaddeus Stevens, Benjamin A. Butler, James F. Wilson, Jonathan A. Bingham, Thomas Williams, and George S. Boutwell, are seen in this 1868 Mathew Brady studio portrait, four men sitting on the front row, three men standing behind. On the verso, around a M.B. Brady & Co.'s National Photographic Portrait Gallery, each man has placed his signature. With a 3.5" x 3" yellow ticket allowing the bearer into the gallery to witness the Senate's impeachment proceeding against President Johnson. The ticket shows minor damage to the upper left corner and mounting remnants on the verso.Auction Info
