Light stains, minor split on one crease, else Fine condition. The second letter, one page, 5.5" x 8.5", Freemont, Ohio, July 11, 1888 to J.L. Clapp. It reads, " I am not able to learn as to the Regiment or the death of young Clapp. After interviewing Maj. Stall I wrote to Capt. Luckey as you see. The boy is remembered here as a young fellow before the war but not afterwards. He must have found some of the Regiment". Light browning and, again, a small split on one fold. Fine condition.
