    Two Post-Civil War Letters Signed by Politicians including: James A. Garfield Autograph Endorsement Signed "J.A. Garfield." Found on the verso of a 7.75" x 9.75" letter, dated May 16, 1865, addressed to him as general. Garfield served as a major general in the Union Army until his election to Congress in 1863. [and:] Hannibal Hamlin ALS "H. Hamlin." Two pages with integral blank, folded down to 4.5" x 7.25", Bangor [Maine], November 14, 1868. Hamlin served as Lincoln's vice president throughout the majority of the war, but was replaced by Andrew Johnson during Lincoln's bid for re-election.
