Titanic Survivors Eleanor Shuman and Millvina Dean Letters. Includes:

Millvina Dean Autograph Letter Signed "Millvina Dean", one page, 5.25" x 7", Southampton, May 3, 2002. A letter to a Miss Smith, in part: "Because of the 90th anniversary, I have been overwhelmed with people wanting T.V. and radio interviews as well as dozens of letters so I hope you didn't mind the delay."

Eleanor Shuman Autograph Letter Signed "Eleanor Shuman", one page, 6.75" x 7.75", Elgin, Illinois, no date. Shuman writes to Philip Croucher, in part: "I am under a lot of pressure now. It's been almost 15 years since my husband died and my son worries about me living alone and he wants me to sell my house and move close to him, out in the country. I don't want to. I have lived in town 62 years, and I feel like a city person. Elgin now has a population of 80,000." Letter is accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in her hand.

Neither Eleanor nor Millvina's families were supposed to be on the Titanic, but they were transferred from another ship due to a coal strike. Eleanor Shuman was 18 months old at the time of the sinking, and was the only survivor to meet James Cameron. She passed away on March 7, 1998, at the age of 87. Millvina was only 2 months old at the time, and was the last remaining survivor of the Titanic. She passed away at the age of 97 on May 31, 2009.

Condition: Both letters and envelope are in good condition, usual mail folds. Signatures are bold.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
